Marika Leinonen

Master of Art and Design. Works at the Academy of Art and Turku University of Applied Sciences (Finland).
She organizes various events in the arts (dance, puppetry, theater, circus, contemporary art). She participates in many projects that are created at the intersection of arts and cultural management. A special professional interest of Marika Leinonen is the issue of equal access to art.
At the lecture Marika Leinonen will talk about her curatorial project — the exhibition for the blind and visually impaired children — Tuntumaa (“Feeling”). A whole group of artists created installations not to scrutiny, but addressed to the other human senses like taste, smell, touch and hearing. The exhibition had a great success in Finland and has been shown in various cities, including the Center for the Visually Impaired IIRIS in Helsinki.
