Mikhail Belyaev is a young multidisciplinary designer, based in St. Petersburg, Russia. Born in 1984, Siberia, Russia.Graduated Art School as artist in 2001. Then, studied Industrial Design in The Ural State Architectural Academy and Media Design in St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
Founded furniture workshop with partner in the last year of university in 2009. In cooperation with friend and Moscow furniture factory realized the most interesting and perspective Russian premium brand of bathroom furniture Eqloo in 2011-2012.
In 2012 on intergovernmental organization CIBART's invitation went to India for working on new social design projects for India and Africa. Designed modular versatile umbrella for different purposes (bus stop, poor rural school, market, etc), bamboo furniture. Have started to design new modular dwelling for poor areas, instead slum. Two-legged bench for slopes "Atis" won the first prize in Russian design competition, where the jury included Ross Lovegrove, Vadim Kibardin and Oscar Zieta.
Participant of the prestigious international exhibitions and fairs such as I Saloni WorldWide, MosBuild, ARCH Moscow, Moscow Design Week etc. Works are published in many magazines, newspapers and books, such as Wallpaper magazine, ICON, INTERNI, Salone, Desktop, Super Interessante magazine, Holland Herald, Microsoft Network News, Daily Mail, etc.
